'Man of Steel 2' Rumors, News: Film Said To Be 'Permanently Postponed'
DC Warner Bros. has listed a long list of slated films they have lined up to build their superhero franchise, yet among these titles is no confirmation for 'Man of Steel 2.'
'Man of Steel' serves as the unofficial film that starts the DC cinematic world, and with the projected success of 'Batman V Superman,' there will definitely be room for a sequel to the rebooted Superman film franchise.
It was recently rumored that 'Mad Max: Fury Road' director George Miller would have the courtesy of taking the helm of 'Man of Steel 2,' however that has also recently been refuted.
"We've since heard from two sources that there might be substance to this rumor. They tell us that Miller is indeed in talks with Warner Bros. about the possibility of taking on one of its future DC movies, though exactly what that movie is hasn't been decided as yet," writes Den of Geek.
It is now being said that Miller is definitely interested in taking on a DC Warner Bros. project, but it will have to be something that interest him. While this doesn't rule out the possibility of him taking on 'Man of Steel 2,' a source has recently proclaimed the film on a "permanent hold."
There does appear to be room for the film to be made, it now solely depends on how lucrative the studio finds the film. Batman appears to be dominating the DC Warner Bros. slate for the upcoming years.
"We recently heard that Warner is privately planning a further three Batman movies starring Ben Affleck, following a positive screening a few weeks ago. The future direction of the DC universe - and its two leading players, Batman and Superman - clearly hinge on the reception of next year's Batman v Superman, so WB will surely be keeping its options open with both franchises," writes Den of Geek.
