'Man In The High Castle' Season 2 Release Date, News: Production Continues After Frank Spotnitz's Departure

Show creator Frank Spotnitz of "The Man in the Castle" has departed the production of the series earlier this spring due to creative differences.

The confirmation was made by executive producer David Zucker, who also revealed at the Television Critics Association press tour that Spotnitz has not been replaced since his departure.

"We're running, in many ways, like a republic," he said. The executive producer also revealed that little has changed since Spotnitz left, primarily because of the heaps of valuable input from the members of the production team.

"There are senior powers in every aspect of the realization of the show, and that frankly is something Frank himself instituted. I don't know how somebody could accomplish something of this ambition without putting incredible stock in what your cast has to say, to your keys, to your designers, to your directors," said Zucker.

At the press tour, the crew also offered a glimpse of the upcoming season and dropped some clues as to what is in store for its characters.

Next season, Juliana Crain will deal with the consequences of her choice to betray the Resistance and let Joe Blake escape the Pacific States with a film that is supposed to be bound for the Man in the High Castle. Meanwhile, Joe Blake will go to Berlin and will face his father who abandoned him. As for Frank Frink, he will be drawn to the Resistance after seeing images of his own execution in the mysterious movies.

"The Man in the High Castle" season 2 is set to premiere on December 16 on Amazon.
