‘Magnificent Seven’ Cast News: Peter Sarsgaard Tapped for Role as Villain in Remake Movie

The remake of "Magnificent Seven' has found its villain in Peter Sarsgaard who seems to have agreed to play the part, according to Variety.

The movie, which is being produced by MGM and Sony Pictures will also star Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt, Hayley Bennett and Ethan Hawke. The movie will be directed by John Sturges, and is set to release in 2017.

The movie is a remake of a 1960 original, which itself is a remake of the movie "Seven Samurai' directed by Akira Kurosawa and starring Yul Brynner and Steve McQueen. The movie was based on on seven gunslingers who protect an oppressed Mexican village from a group of outlaws.

The original movie, by the same name, starred Steve McQueen, Yul Brynner, Charles Bronson, James Coburn, and Robert Vaughn. The movie tells the story of a world set in the American Old West, and tells the story of town controlled by hostile bandits. A woman, whose role will be played by Bennett, hires a group of thugs to save the place.

The script was recently reworked upon by by John Lee Hancock, along with Nic Pizzolatto, the creator of the popular TV series, "True Detective', according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Also, it was recently revealed that Jason Momoa quit the project because he just didn't have enough to do in the movie. Momoa would have played one of the secondary villains, according to Deadline.
