Madonna's 'Rebel Heart' Tour News: Pop Singer Postpones Beginning Tour
Madonna has pushed back some of the opening shows in her "Rebel Heart" tour. The tour was scheduled originally to open in Miami in late August, but it is now scheduled to start with a two night show at Bell Centre in Montreal, QC on September 9 and 10.
The concerts which were originally supposed to take place in Miami on August 29th and 30th, in Atlanta on September 2nd, and in San Juan Puerto Rico on September 5th and 6th have been rescheduled for January 2016.
Tickets for those five shows will be honored for the newly scheduled shows. Madonna announced the delay with an apology to fans through a statement which she posted on Wednesday, May 20th.
The statement says, "As my fans already know, the show has to be perfect. Assembling all the elements will require more time than we realized. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause my fans. I can promise you this show will be worth the wait. Can't wait to share it with all my Rebel Hearts out there."
The tour's purpose is to support Madonna's latest album, which is also called "Rebel Heart".
After the album was released in March, it debuted and peaked at number 2 on the Billboard 200 list.
Since the album has been released, Madonna has made several high profile appearances, such as one at the Brit Awards and the IHeartRadio Music Awards.
Fans will certainly remember the performance in which she joined Drake onstage in which he sang a cut from his latest album called "Madonna" and she gave him a passionate kiss.
