Game publisher EA has recently announced that the release date of Madden NFL16, the newest installment in the American football video game franchise, will be made available to gamers beginning August 25^th.

EA shared the news in a post on its website, which does not have a lot of information, but says that there will be more details about the game released in May.

Fans are still wondering a lot of things about the new game. For instance everyone wants to know who will be on the cover of the video game this year.

Last year, the players on the cover were chosen using a poll held by ESPN, which let fans decide who should be featured. Richard Sherman, the corner back for the Seattle Seahawks won the poll.

Likely due to the fact that the Seahawks had just won the Super Bowl and Sherman was making a lot of new headlines. This year, since the New England Patriots are the most recent Super Bowl victors, it is likely that a Patriot will make the cover.

iDigital Times speculates that the top two candidates from the Patriots would probably be Tom Brady, the quarterback or Rob Gronkowski, a tight end. Brady is probably more likely, because he does not have many more seasons left in his career.

Fans also believe that the new Madden will not exclude players who are still playing on older consoles.

Rather than only being released for the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4, it is more likely that Madden NFL 16 will go to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 as well.

Other than that, it will probably be quite similar to Madden NFL 15.
