'MAD TV' Airs On The CW, Features Cast Reunion In 20th Anniversary Special
Stuart, Miss Swan, and company are set to come back in "Mad TV" for its 20th anniversary special.
In line with the 20th anniversary, Fox's comedy series "Mad TV" is set to return for a one hour episode in The CW, according to TV Line.
The anniversary special is set to bring together 19 stars of the Fox comedy series, which spanned from 1995 to 2009. It follows the cast members as they attend a "glamorous" award ceremony to give distinction to the series; but then, it will still have a classic "Mad TV" tinge, as it will not go as planned.
The "Mad TV" Anniversary Reunion Special stars Ike Barinholtz, Mo Collins, Anjelah Johnson, Keegan-Michael Key, Artie Lange, Michael McDonald, Arden Myrin, Eric Prince, Aries Spears, Stephanie Weir, Debra Wilson, Nicole Sullivan, Will Sasso, Nicole PArker, Bobby Lee, Phil MaMarr, Nicole Randall Johnson, Crista Flanagan, and Alex Borstein, among others.
Aside from a new comedy material showing the 19 series alumni, "Mad TV" Anniversary Reunion Special will feature clips of pop culture spoofs and politically related humor from the show's past 14 seasons, according to The CW.
Based on the long-running MAD Magazine, "Mad TV" is a sketch comedy series that spoofs various television shows, films, music videos, and other pop-culture icons. The show features celebrity guests from time to time to help its cast banter and ignite fun. A lot of its episodes also cradled performances of many popular musical acts.
"Mad TV's" 20th Anniversary Reunion Special is set to premiere in The CW on Jan. 12, 2016.
