'Mad Men' News: Elizabeth Moss Reveals Her Idea for a Spin-Off Series
'Mad Men' wrapped up its final season earlier this year in highly successful finale which only forced fans to end up yearning for more.
With the spin-off trend running rampant on television, fans can only speculate about a possible companion series for '60s drama, and star Elizabeth Moss has a certain vision for what she'd like it to be about.
"I suppose the continuation of work-life balance. I find that fascinating for men and women, and I think that's something that's so identifiable and something that people can't quite figure out," Moss told Huffington Post. "I think the idea of a woman being successful and in love and trying to balance those two is very interesting."
"Until there's equal pay for women, I don't think we're out of the dark," she continued.
She goes on to speak on her character on the show, Peggy. This role painted a fairly accurate picture of a woman climbing the ladder of success in the 1960's, and relates to a lot of the issues that are still prevalent today.
"That's why Peggy was so identifiable to women, because she was not a bra-burner, she wasn't out there protesting, she wasn't doing those things that were very necessary for women to have done in the '60s," Moss said. "She was just saying, 'I don't understand why I can't make as much money as you do. That doesn't make any sense to me.' And that is another kind of feminist path."
As of now, there is no slated 'Mad Men' spin-off, however Moss has a new film hitting theaters on August 26 called 'Queen of Earth.'
