'Mad Max: Fury Road' New Trailer News, Spoilers: Second Official Teaser Launches [VIDEO]
Announced at last year's summer Comic Con, director George Miller said that his acclaimed series, Mad Max, would be coming back, and a trailer for the new movie was shown. Since then, fans have eagerly awaited more news regarding the film.
In light of that, and on Tuesday, a second trailer for Mad Max: Fury Road was released. While the first focused on all of the explosions, gore and chase sequences, the second one focused a little more on the story.
Tom Hardy, who plays Max in the film, narrates the trailer and gives us an inside look at the character's mental state.
"In this wasteland, I am the one who runs from both the living and the dead. A man reduced to a single instinct: survive," Hardy's character says.
The trailer then focuses on Imperator Furiosa, played by Charlize Theron, who has taken Immortan Joe's, played by Hugh Keays-Bryne, harem of girls. Furious to get his "property" back, Joe chases after the girls with a number of his men. Max and Furiosa to team up in a shaky alliance to out run the crazed and insane group.
Max narrates one part, hinting that the movie will also provide some philosophy along with the gritty action, "As the world fell, each of us in our own way was broken. It was hard to know who was more crazy, me or everyone else."
Miller said during a panel discussion of the film at last year's Comic Con, "I love chase movies; I think they're the purest form of cinema. That's where the film language started. I wanted to make one long, extended chase, and see what we could pick up about the characters along the way."
Mad Max: Fury Road is set for a theatrical release on May 15 of this year.
