macOS Sierra News & Update: Eighth Developer Beta Announced As Release Date Nears
The eighth developer beta for the macOS Sierra has been announced, just a week after the seventh developer beta and sixth public beta.
Initial news reports have alleged that the macOS Sierra will have a release date similar to the anticipated iPhone 7 on Sept. 7. Apple has already sent out invites to that huge affair, although at this point only the release of the new mobile phones on that day is confirmed.
According to MacRumors, the announcement for the eighth developers beta came two months after it was first revealed at the Worldwide Developers Conference 2016. Those who are subscribed to the program may already download the latest version through the Software Update or the Apple Developer Center.
In related news, the macOS Sierra will reportedly introduce some changes in the USB 3.1 support, particularly a much-faster interface at speeds of up to 10 GB per second. In comparison, the older versions can only achieve half of that speed.
In all likelihood, this feature will be fully maximized by the MacBook Pro 2016 or MacBook Air, if it's going to launch at all.
By now, most people who follow Apple news know that the macOS Sierra is the company's attempt at bringing the virtual assistant Siri to the Mac.
"Siri on Mac is all about multitasking," the description from the company's website said. "So you can be working on one thing, like finishing up a document, and ask Siri to send a message to your coworker saying it's on the way - without stopping what you're doing."
