MacBook Pro 2016 Release Date, Specs Rumors: Touch ID, OLED Touch Bar To Replace Function Keys?
It's been rumored that the newest additions to MacBook Pro 2016's specs would be the Touch ID and the OLED Touch Bar to replace the touch function keys.
Now, new reports from the changes in the macOS Sierra are filtering in that would lend credence to all those rumors, 9to5 Mac said.
"On Apple's API differences webpage, you can see several new resources that hint at potential features that could be coming with future Macs, including that OLED touch bar and Touch ID support," its aid.
The OLED Touch Bar was also reportedly confirmed by Mac Generation, pointing at the "kHIDUsage_LED_DoNotDisturb" in the API, which may be accessed via a dedicated touch button.
The API also seems to suggest a biometric input device, which may mean the Touch ID. This is not a new thing, of course.
"In 2013, an iOS 7 beta contained a hidden biometric resource that hinted at fingerprint recognition coming to the iPhone, and a similar one has now been discovered in Sierra," said 9to5 Mac.
All these specs rumors and release dates reports have been teasing fans about what to expect with the MacBook Pro 2016. Tech analysts and fan websites have been predicting that the the device will be launched during the Apple press event in April and the WWDC 2016 on June 13 and two times they have been wrong.
"However, there was one rumour that we didn't quite want to believe from trusted analyst Ming-Chi Kuo that suggested new MacBooks will be coming out in the fourth quarter of 2016, which runs from July to September for Apple,"Mac World said.
For now, fans will just have to wait for the official release date to be announced by Apple to make sense of all the rumors surrounding the MacBook Pro 2016.
