Macbook Air 2016 Release Date News, Specs Rumors: New MacBook To Feature Touch ID and OLED Touch Bar?
New details on the release date and specifications of Apple's MacBook Air 2016 have surfaced.
The MacBook Air 2016 is set to hit the market in August, Mac Otakara has learned. As per the Japanese tech publication, the Cupertino-based company is set to launch the much-anticipated laptop this month; though, it is not set to take place at the Worldwide developers Conference or WWDC 2016, which is ongoing.
It is further revealed that Apple is set to hold a separate press to officially make an announcement on the coming of the device, since the same event took place in April 2015. According to Mac Rumors, Apple is set to pin the press release after the Apple WWDC 2016 event. Details on the exact date of the anticipated press release is yet to be revealed.
Apple has kept itself tight-lipped when it comes to the specifications of the forthcoming device; however, various speculations about its features surround the upcoming device. According to Christian Times, tech analysts believe that the MacBook Air 2016 will not display significant changes, as opposed to its predecessors.
KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also revealed, as cited by Mac Rumors, that the MacBook Air 2016 is set to have a 13-inch and a 15-inch variant, which are rumored to take over the 11-inch iteration. The device is also set to be thinner and lighter, along with a Touch ID and an OLED touch bar feature on its keyboard. Also, the device is set to include an OLED touch panel, as well as four USB-C ports, as per the publication.
Overall, the MacBook Air 2016 is assumed to come out in August, with the launch happening this month.
