Lumia 830 Update: Microsoft to Unveil Affordable 2-SIM Smartphone at 2015 Mobile World Congress

Having acquired Nokia, Microsoft now seems to have one primary goal - to dominate the smartphone market by producing and marketing newer smartphone models often. Keeping this objective in view, the Redmond-based tech will be offering a new variant of the inexpensive Lumia 830 smartphone.

According to the Epoch Times, although the company has yet to make any official announcement regarding the specs of the upcoming device, initial reports on the Internet suggest that the Lumia 830 handset will have two SIM cards and 1 GB of RAM. In addition, the device is expected to have a 5-inch display rendering 720p resolution, equipped with a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor and sport an 8.7 megapixel rear camera.

The camera of Lumia 830 may include other features, such as the PureView. It is expected that the camera will be similar to the featuring in the Lumia 920 smartphone.

As per the ET report, the other specs of the upcoming Lumia 830 smartphone comprise 8 GB of internal memory, which can be expanded up to 64 GB or 128 GB via a microSD card slot. Initially, the device will be run on Microsoft's own Windows Phone 8.1 OS, and will possibly be updated to the latest Windows 10 OS by the end of this year.

While Microsoft has yet to announce the official release date of the Lumia 830, it is expected that the company may unveil the device at the 2015 Mobile World Congress (MWC) scheduled for Barcelona in March 2 - 5. As for the price, it is expected that the Lumia 830 will cost around $275 or € 235 at the time of its launch.
