'Luke Cage' Spoilers: Different From ‘Daredevil,’ ‘Jessica Jones,’ Set To Premiere On Netflix
The upcoming "Luke Cage" television series is set to be different from "Daredevil" and "Jessica Jones," according to Mike Colter.
Colter plays Luke Cage in "Jessica Jones" and in the forthcoming "Luke Cage" series. In his inteview with Collider, the actor explained how "Luke Cage" is going to be different from other Marvel shows on Netflix.
The shows were all very similar, but were different at the same time, according to Colter. The actor also mentioned that it was very smart and it would be very refreshing to see the same character examined with a different set of circumstances. He added that the characters were all different and that made it very unique.
According to Colter, being introduced first in "Jessica Jones" is advantageous. Since his character is a guest star in the female-led Netflix series, the showrunners and the writers of the show are more liberated to make adjustments in his storyline, which includes his origin or backstory, and will not be bothered by matters surrounding the story's continuity.
Colter also suggested that "Luke Cage" will move forward from the point where he is in "Jessica Jones." In his interview with Vulture, the actor said that fans would learn more about him and where he had come from.
As per Colter, his take on "Luke Cage" was not a total departure from where they had been with "Jessica Jones," but it was more about him as a person. The actor also mentioned that "Luke Cage" would also center on the character's growth and how he figured out that he was a superhero.
"Luke Cage" is set to premiere in 2016 on Netflix.
