Lucifer season 2 has plenty of shockers in store for fans when it returns after its midseason finale. One of these surprises is the advent of God, who is Lucifer Morningstar's dad.

Rumor has it that FOX is currently looking for the best actor to portray God. Based on spoilers for episode 11, God will be introduced as a patient in a psychiatric ward. People think he is mentally ill for claiming that he is the Lord Almighty.

In a previous interview, "Lucifer" executive producer Joe Henderson revealed that they would introduce God in the series, although not very early in the season, since they wanted to introduce Lucifer's mom first. Back then, introducing God was not their priority since it was Lucifer's mom that they wanted to include in the sequence.

It can be recalled that Charlotte Richards, Lucifer's mother, already appeared earlier in the season. The character was played by Tricia Helfer and was the one responsible for blowing up Detective Chloe Decker. She hoped that she would be able to persuade Lucifer to leave the Earth, but just when she was about to make a move, Amenadiel came to stop her.

According to reports, the second half of season 2 will focus on Lucifer's arrival in Los Angeles. The remaining episodes of the season will reportedly feature flashbacks that will answer questions about Lucifer's individuality and his motive for going to L.A.
