'Lucifer' Episode 5 Spoilers: Chloe Teams Up With Lucifer In Investigation; Maze Set To Protect Chloe?

In "Sweet Kicks," Chloe (Lauren German) found herself teaming up with Lucifer (Tom Ellis) for an investigation of a murder case that had recently occurred at a fashion show.

Unwilling to accept the assignment at first, Chloe knew she had no other choice but to be game for it when Lucifer himself asked her superior to join the probe.

At the outset of the investigation, the two tracked down the house of two gang members who, according to fashion show designer Benny, may have had some involvement in the incident. As they cross-examined the two initial suspects, however, Chloe and Lucifer discovered that one of them was a cousin to the victim and that they were not the culprits they were looking for.

The quest for truth made headway when the two gang members identified Yellow Viper as the possible killer.

When Chloe and Lucifer identified his whereabouts and came face-to-face with him, they discovered that Yellow Viper was hiding a gun in his pocket, and it matched the gun that was used in the killing.

As the case came to a close, Lucifer was formally appointed as a civilian consultant for the LAPD. Chloe found it an objectionable move, but she had no choice but to just roll over and play dead.

Meanwhile, episode 5 also saw Lucifer conversing with his confidante and ally Maze (Leslie-Ann Brandt), who revealed to him that she wanted to return to hell. Lucifer thought it was not the best idea, so he told Maze to remember her promise instead.

In the final scene, Chloe was shown sleeping soundly as Maze watched over her.

"Lucifer" airs every Monday, 9:00 p.m. ET on FOX.
