The Los Angeles Lakers begin their season against the Houston Rockets on October 28 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

Future HOF Kobe Bryant talked about what possible adjustments he will have to make when he starts playing for his latest Lakers head coach (and former Lakers teammate) Bryon Scott beginning Tuesday night.

"No, not really. Even as player-to-player, he was more of a coach than a player. He was at the stage of his career similar to where I am now. He was more of a coach than a teammate. So he was coaching in practice and during games," said Bryant to CBS Sports' Ken Berger in an interview.

"Like, we would sit next to each other on the bench and he'd say, 'OK, watch how you chase on this screen-and-roll here, watch how you chase off of this pin-down action. This particular set you should think about doing this.' So he was really coaching me during that time, so it's really no different."

In other Lakers news, Steve Nash is expected to miss the entire season due to a nagging back injury, in what was slated to be the iconic point guard's final season in the NBA.

"Being on the court this season has been my top priority and it is disappointing to not be able to do that right now," said Nash to reporters.

"I work very hard to stay healthy and unfortunately my recent setback makes performing at full capacity difficult. I will continue to support my team during this period of rest, and will focus on my long-term health."

Los Angeles Lakers newest point guard Jeremy Lin revealed his thoughts about facing his former team Houston Rockets on Opening Night at the Staples Center.

"To be honest, I think I'm a subplot," said Lin to Lakers Nation in an interview, "I'm glad, but it's not an opening night centered around me. It's more Kobe and Dwight."

Meanwhile, the Rockets hope to spoil Linsanity's homecoming as Houston looks to start the forthcoming 2014-2015 campaign with 1-0 record on October 28.

Rockets superstar James Harden has faith that that this year might be the year Houston wins their first championship since 1995 (and third title overall).

"Definitely, it's all about chemistry. Whatever team it is, chemistry is the most important thing. You look at the Spurs, and they have a structure and they have a chemistry, and they're all on the same page, no matter what's happening," said Harden to USA TODAY Sports in an interview.

"If we can build that chemistry during the season, even when things are going bad to still have great chemistry, then we'll be great."

The game will start at 10:30 p.m. ET and it can be watched on TV on TNT network or online through live stream by clicking here.
