The Los Angeles Lakers will face the Boston Celtics on December 5 at the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts.

The Lakers (5-14) are looking to prevent a possible two game streak when they battle their longtime rival Celtics on Friday night.

Previously, Los Angeles lost to the Washington Wizards by a final score of 111-95 on December 3 after Kobe Bryant had 29 points in a losing effort.

"If I want to play, I'll play. I tend to make my own decisions. If I don't want to play, I won't play," said Bryant to reporters in reference to him possibly retiring after next season.

Lakers head coach Byron Scott also expressed his thoughts regarding Kobe Bryant's potential retirement in a few years.

"He's got a lot left in that tank. I think if we put something together that excites him, we have a real good chance of saying, 'play another year," said Scott to reporters.

Meanwhile, the Celtics (5-11) attempts to extend their winning streak to two games when they defend their home court versus the Lakers in the next chapter of arguably the best rivalry in NBA history.

Boston recently defeated the Detriot Pistons by a final score of 109-102 on December after Celtics small forward Jeff Green scored 32 points in order to lead his team to the victory.

"I'm excited for the guys that they gutted one out when it kind of teeter-tottered toward not going their way," said Celtics head coach Brad Stevens to reporters.

"We needed to respond. I'm not going to overreact, though. We've only done it once."
