Los Angeles Clippers NBA 2015 News: DeAndre Jordan to Take Free Agency Meetings with At Least Four Teams

In today's NBA where the ability to play the pick and roll on both ends is as vital a skill as any, and where big men are valued so much more if they can move like guards, Los Angeles Clippers center DeAndre Jordan will become one of the hottest commodities once the free agency period begins on July 1. And USA TODAY Sports' Sam Amick reports that the 26-year-old will be meeting with at least four teams during the first few days of free agency.

The Clippers, the neighboring Lakers, the Dallas Mavericks, and the New York Knicks are among the teams people with knowledge of Jordan's situation have been said will get meetings with the high-flying big man. Amick notes that the meetings are expected to take place in Los Angeles where Jordan's representatives, Dan Fegan and Happy Walters of Relativity Sports, are based.

"I mean I've obviously been (in Los Angeles) seven years, and the past two have been great. Doc (Rivers, Clippers coach) has been my biggest supporter and the best coach I've ever had. The team is great. The guys are good. We have great camaraderie. But the free agency process is definitely going to be a fun one," Jordan told USA TODAY Sports back in March.

"I want to experience it, to see what it's like, because before (in 2011) I was restricted, so I just kind of had to wait it out. But I definitely want to experience it. I'm happy being a Clipper. I love it here. I've been here seven years, so this is definitely what I'm used to."

Amick points out that Clippers coach and general manager Doc Rivers has made it no secret the Clippers will be offering Jordan a five-year maximum-salary that could be worth in the neighborhood of $109 million. As per the collective bargaining agreement, other teams can only offer a maximum salary of four years and $81 million.
