Lorde vs. Selena Gomez diss alert!

Lorde may be new to the scene ever since her smash "Royals" became a 2013 summer anthem. She's fresh on the scene and not wasting any time bashing her female pop contemporaries.

After already starting beef with Taylor Swift, claiming her image is too polished, Lorde now has her crosshairs on the Red singer's BFF, Selena Gomez.

In an interview with TheGrapeJuice.net, Lorde isn't shy from pointing out some major flaws in the Stars Dance starlet.

Lorde points out Gomez's single "Come & Get It" as a terrible example for young women to aspire to.

"I love pop music on a sonic level, but I'm a feminist and the theme of her song ["Come & Get It"] is, 'When you're ready, come and get it from me.' I'm sick of women being portrayed this way," said Lorde.

Though the lyrics to "Come & Get It" are vague enough to not narrow down to one anti-feminist interpretation. However, when looking at a few of the lines, it's not hard to see where Lorde is coming from.

Lines like, "You ain't gotta worry, it's an open invitation / I'll be sitting right here, real patient / All day, all night, I'll be waiting standby," perpetuate the image of a woman who would rather wait for her man to rescue her rather than stand on her own.

Whatever the "Royals" singer is doing to "pop music on a sonic level" is working. The 16-year old New Zeleand native has stayed on the Billboard Alternative Chart longer than any solo female in history. She's currently at number 3 behind Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus on the Hot 100.
