"Longmire" season 5 is just a month away, and rumors have it that it is going to be the last.

The series originally aired on A&E for three seasons, but the network cancelled it after season 3 as it caters to old demographics. While Netflix picked up the show for season 4, rumors emerged last year that the network was also cancelling the show so there won't be a fifth season. Following a successful online petition, however, "Longmire" has been renewed for another season, only that it might be the last one for the series.

As the season 5 premiere draws near, fans continue to make speculations as to what will happen next season.

There are speculations that Walt Longmire may die following a confrontation with the unknown intruder in his home. Some speculate that in the event that he survives, he may end up being romantically involved with his long-time friend, Vic.

Some spoilers also suggest that the friendship of Walt and Henry will come to an end. In the previous season of the series, Walt Longmire always cared for Henry's welfare and wanted the best for him, while Henry always just looked after himself.

On the other hand, some speculate that Henry will not change next season, since he still keeps secrets from Walt instead of being a confederate of the tribal police.

Netflix has yet to release the official synopsis for the upcoming season.
