LIVRE' recently just did an interview with us and shared the excitment of their new hit single, "Amazing", and their plans for this upcoming year. With their first ever debut album reportedly going to be released in 2014, LIVRE' speaks about the journey they encountered to get where they are today, and how God has guided them. The gospel group continually pours out God's love for us, and sings powerful messages to their fans.  LIVRE' got their start in the music industry five years ago and are dedicated to sharing that God is cool, and it is cool to be free in Christ with their fans. BC: Tell me a little about LIVRE'. When did the group come together and how?

Five years ago we started out as a praise and worship team (as friends) for a revival at a family member's church. We knew each other because our parents had performed together in "The Bronx Mass Choir." Each night during the revival, the assistant pastor of Family Baptist Church asked us what the name of our group was. We kept telling her, "We are not a group." She told us that by the end of the revival we need to have a name. After the revival, we decided to do more praise and worship services, still with no name. Six months later a group member came up with the name "LIVRE'" which means "Free" in Portuguese and "Deliver" in French. Although we were teenagers at the time, we were sincere about spreading the gospel in song, showing other young people that it's cool be free in Christ.

BC: What do you think each of you bring to the table when it comes to LIVRE' and its music?

Collectively we strive to bring Jesus, but individually, Ajanee brings the creative direction, Ariel brings order and wisdom to the group, and Malik brings diversity to LIVRE' musically and spiritually. Kenny brings good laughs and fun. Rich brings a spirit of worship to the group, also smiles to our faces. Cree brings the spunk to LIVRE'.

BC: "Amazing" is the most recent single made from LIVRE'. What was your inspiration behind making this single?

 We just wanted to pay total homage to His awesomeness and give Him our best and purest worship. This song was written by our in-house producer David Harris of Progressive Music Group. Simply put, our inspiration came from looking around and seeing what an amazing God we serve. When others may give up and lose hope, He remains the same. He is the Alpha and Omega.

BC: What would you want fans/listeners to receive from hearing "Amazing"?

We want everyone who listens to this song to join in with us as we worship this great God. We want them to experience how amazing He is and to feel lifted whenever they listen. The song is about reverencing the One who created us and loves us unconditionally.

 BC: Are there any new album plans in the making?

We plan on releasing our first album next year. We are extremely excited for everyone to hear what we've been working on!

BC: What would you say was the biggest inspiration lyrically for the making of LIVRE''s songs?

We would say mainly our life experiences are the biggest inspiration behind our lyrics. We are also inspired by our own individual relationships with God.

BC: What are LIVRE''s plans for 2014? (ie: album, tours, concerts)

We plan to release our first album, release our new single, "Amazing", definitely hit the road again for a radio tour, and also release our first video which is for "Amazing"! It's going to be a busy year for us!

BC: If you could work with any artists, who would it be and why?

We would love to work with Jesus Culture because we absolutely love their worship. It brings us to a deeper level of worship. We would love to work with Tye Tribbett and Y'anna Crawley because they've supported LIVRE' from our beginning. We would also love to work with Legends in Gospel such as Andrae' Crouch, Richard Smallwood, and the amazing Donald Lawrence!

BC: What do you want listeners to get from LIVRE? Is there a particular message that the group is trying to sing about?

We want our listeners to receive freedom and deliverance in Jesus, which is what our name means. Too often young people are driven away from the church because they believe Christians have to be stuffy and rigid. We want our listeners to understand you can be cool, fun and fashionable and still believe in God. We want them to feel free and to be proud that they represent Christ.
