LG G Flex 2 Release Date, Specs, Price: New Curved Smartphone Unveiled at CES 2015

New reports claim that the LG G Flex 2 has an affordable price of $600 despite its curved features. The device's cost is deemed as the standard for a handset without contracts from carriers. The curved form is compared to the traditional landline so the LG handset is highly recommended for long talks over the phone.

LG G Flex 2 has a 5.5-inch screen, which is smaller than an original G Flex. The display is also protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3, which makes it durable compared to other models.

It weighs 152 grams and measures 149.1 x 75.3 x 7.1-9.4 millimeters. The phone with a curved P-OLED touchscreen has a self healing back panel coating that can "heal" itself when it attains scratches and marks in a matter of ten seconds. The display resolution is 1080 x 1920 pixels with 403 ppi.

As for the G Flex 2 hardware, it runs with Qualcomm MSM8994 Snapdragon 810 and has Quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 & Quad-core 2 GHz Cortex-A57 for the CPU plus Adreno 430 for the GPU. The operating system is Android 5.0.1 Lollipop.

Users can choose from 16 GB internal memory with 2 GB of RAM or 32 GB of memory with 3 GB of RAM. Both variations can be expanded up to 128 GB with its microSD slot.

The camera of the G Flex 2 can capture good photos in low light or while in motion with its 13-megapixel main camera. It has 4128 x 3096 pixels complete with laser autofocus, optical image stabilization and dual-LED flash.

Other features include simultaneous video and image recording, geo-tagging, face detection, panorama, and HDR. The front facing camera has 2.1 megapixels with 1080@30 frames per second.

The LG G Flex 2 will be released in the market before January ends and it has Platinum Silver and Flamenco Red as color options.
