LG Google Nexus 5 Launch Date News: New Smartphone to Come This Month & Compete with iPhone 6S

For quite some time now, there have been plenty of rumors and speculations regarding Google's upcoming Nexus smartphone, currently dubbed as Nexus 5 (2015). It is speculated that the South Korean tech titan LG Electronics will be making the hardware for the upcoming Google device.

IB Times states that the most recent report suggests that the device will be released in September. A reliable Korean technology portal reported that LG-manufactured Nexus 5 (2015) handsets will be launched on Sept. 29. According to the Korean web portal, the information has been provided by sources credited that also provided precise pre-release details about Nexus products in the past.

It is rumored that the upcoming Nexus 5 smartphone will also run Google's recently released Android M operating system out of the box. Other important technical specs of the next-gen Nexus 5 have also surfaced online and these reports claim that the upcoming smartphone will feature a 5.2-inch display and a 13-megapixel primary rear camera.

Under the hood, the LG Google Nexus 5 is likely to pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 SoC and 3GB RAM. The other specs of the upcoming handset include a fingerprints sensor and USB Type-C connector.

According to latest rumors, Google's new Nexus is expected to be launched together with another Nexus smartphone that is said to be manufactured by China-based Huawei. It is likely that both these new handsets will be launched on Sept. 29.

After its launch, Google's Nexus 5 will compete with Apple's upcoming iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus smartphones. According to latest reports these next-gen devices from Apple are expected to be launched during an event scheduled for Sept. 9 in San Francisco.
