LG G4 Specs & Features News: Tech Titan Finally Unveils Latest Flagship Smartphone
LG's G3 smartphone was already one of the best choices out on the market, and with the unveiling of their latest flagship smartphone, the G4, they just made a good thing even better.
The first thing that stands out is its design. According to Yahoo's Daniel Howley, LG was keen on making its latest phone one of the best looking smartphones in existence, and it opted to go with a rear panel featuring high-quality leather. Unlike the plastic faux leather on Samsung's Galaxy S6 and Note 4 models, LG claims to have spent years researching on how to produce leather for the G4.
The G3 was also renowned for its camera, and LG made sure to improve on that aspect of the G4 as well. The G4's rear 16-megapixel camera packs a 1.8 aperture lens that LG says should be able to capture brighter images in low-light settings compared to leading competitors the iPhone 6 and S6.
It's optical image stabilization (OIS) allows for the camera's lens to physically move, negating the effects of hand shaking, which allows for more detailed images captured. LG claims that its OIS is better than the S6 citing its ability to move on three axes.
Another aspect that LG is high on, according to the Yahoo article, is its 2560x1440 resolution display. The G4 uses what LG claims to be a new technology based on quantum mechanics that effectively produces more vivid colors. With the technology, the G4's display becomes the first smartphone screen to comply with Hollywood's Digital Cinema Initiative. This basically means colors in movies should look exactly the same on the G4 as in the cinemas.
Other specs for the G4, which runs Android 5.0 Lollipop, are a quad-core processor, 3 GB of RAM, and 32 GB of storage. It has a microSD card slot, as well as a removable battery, a couple of features, as pointed out by Howley, that were dropped from Samsung's latest phones.
The LG G4 is expected to be released this June.
