If latest reports are to be believed, LG Electronics will be launching its upcoming flagship handset LG G4 in April. Korea Times quotes anonymous sources saying that though the South Korean tech titan will not be launching the device at the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015 in Barcelona, Spain, next month, it will be releasing the flagship smartphone a month later with a view to avoid clash with other tech manufacturers who have several products lined up for launch at the MWC.

According to Christian Post, several premium smartphones are likely to be unveiled at the upcoming MWC trade show with a view to seek the attention of experts as well as tech enthusiasts at the event. As of now, it has been confirmed that Samsung and HTC would be participating in the electronics event. The report quotes a source revealing that LG does not plan to share the spotlight at the MWC with other smartphone manufacturers and, hence, it has decided to postpone the release of the LG G4 to April.

Many are of the view that this makes some sense as LG released its current flagship smartphone - the LG G3, in May 2014. This suggests that the South Korean tech manufacturer is likely to pursue a similar release date pattern this time too. In addition, another anonymous executive of LG Electronics told The Chosun Ilbo that currently the company is working to perfect the upcoming smartphone.

The LG executive is reported to have said, "We rolled out the G3 in May last year so we do not plan to unveil the G4 at this year's Mobile World Congress and spend more time perfecting the new phone."

As far as the specs of the LG G4 is concerned, there are rumors that the device will come with a 5-inch quad HD screen display, a Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 processor, pack a bigger RAM, run with Android 5.0 Lollipop OS and have a 16-megapixel to 20-megapixel rear camera. In addition, the device is also likely to pack a longer battery life.

However, LG Electronics is yet to confirm the features and the release date of its upcoming flagship smartphone.
