LG G4 Release Date & Features Rumors, News: Will the Upcoming Smartphone Beat its Predecessor? [VIDEO]

Just a week ahead of the unveiling of the much-anticipated LG G4, the latest flagship smartphone from the South Korean tech firm, some interesting information regarding the device has been revealed. In fact, inquisitiveness of both tech experts and enthusiasts has increased following the accidental leak of some key features of the handset on Sunday.

According to IB Times, as of now, the LG G4 is scheduled to be made public either on April 28th or 29th simultaneously in six cities - New York, London, Paris, Seoul, Singapore and Istanbul. Already, the South Korean tech giant has sent out a press invites that read, "SEE THE GREAT FEEL THE GREAT."

In fact, the under construction staging site of LG Electronics unintentionally leaked a couple of images, revealing a number of key features of the device. The Korea Herald reported that the leaked images revealed that the upcoming LG G4 would be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, and not the rumored Snapdragon 810. Moreover, the device will be available in plastic and leather covers. The leaked images show the rear home buttons and the chances are high that the device will come with a removable battery as well as memory card slot.

The Korea Herald claimed that an industry source told them, "The site showed that the G4 would sport Qualcomm's (slower) Snapdragon 808 chip instead of the latest Snapdragon 810, which I think might lose a selling point for LG."

Various reports speculating the features and specifications of the upcoming LG G4 have claimed that the device is likely to come with a 5.5-inch Quad HD display along with 2,560x1,440 pixels. The device is expected to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, and run on Google's latest Android 5.0 Lollipop. In addition, it is likely to sport a 16 MP rear camera with a wide f/1.8 aperture as well as an 8 MP front snapper. The smartphone will come with 32GB internal memory and 3GB RAM, and 3500 mAH battery.

On the other hand, according to the claims of an analyst, LG's upcoming flagship smartphone is certainly impressive, but may not be better than its predecessor, the LG G3.

The Korea Herald quoted the IBK Investment & Securities analyst name Lee Seung-woo as saying, "The leather-backed G4 seemed to be an impressive product," adding, "But the market conditions will not be favorable."

Now it remains to be seen wheter or not the LG G4 is able to beat its predecessor, which has already shipped 10 million units.
