LG G3 vs LG G2 Comparison: Specs and Price Review
Usually consumers have a hard time choosing between brands when selecting which smart phone suits their needs best. However, in the case of LG's G3 and G2, loyal techies need to make a tough decision as to which one they will buy.
A side-by-side comparison could help the customer decide, but between LG's G3 and G2 smartphones, the decision remains difficult.
To begin with, both phones are known to be excellent phones with the G3 drawing inspiration from the success of the G2.
The G3 is slightly bigger and heavier than the G2 coming in at 5.76 x 2.94 x 0.35mm and 149g. This slight difference however, makes a major difference when it comes to screen size and resolution. The G3's screen comes in at 5.5-inches with a 2560 x 1440 resolution to the G2's 5.2-inches with 1920 x 1080 resolution.
The size difference gives the G3 a sharper display with 538ppi against the G2's 423ppi. That's all and well when people are considering the screen size and sharpness, but how does the new G3 fair against the G2 in performance?
Naturally, as the G3 is an upgraded version of the G2, the specs are one bar higher than its predecessor. The G3 is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core 2.5GHz Krait 400 processor paired with a 3GB RAM and a Adreno 330 graphics processor. The G2 has a marked down, but still top-of-the-line, Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core 2.2GHz Krait 400 process with a 2GB RAM and the same graphics processor.
With the upgrades, the only thing that G3 failed to improve upon is its camera, which still sits at 13MP like the G2. As expected with big, fast, and fancy flagship smartphones, they don't come cheap. The G3 is priced at $800 while the G2 is significantly cheaper at $400.
The G2 is still a great phone, at a good price, but for those wanting a top-of-the-line smartphone that has the fastest processor and bigger, sharper screen, the G3 is the phone to go for.
