LG G3 Release Date, Specs: Debut August 1 in Canada; QHD Display, Fast Laser Autofocus

The long wait is over as LG's third flagship device, the LG G3, will be out in Canada on August 1. One of the most anticipated smartphones of the year, LG G3 is said to compete neck to neck with big brands such as Apple's iPhone and Samsung's Galaxy series.

Phone carriers such as Rogers, Bell, MTS, SaskTel, and Videotron are the official distributors of LG G3 along with Tbooth, The Source, Wireless Wave, Wireless Etc, and Wow Mobile. The device will also bear the latest version of Android Kitkat, enhancing the phone's simpler and more flattened appeal.

Aside from the 5.5-inch screen with an excellent resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, it is also equipped with a 2.5 GHz Snapdragon 801 processor with 3 GB of RAM. Internal storage varies from 16 GB to 32 GB with a memory expansion slot up to 128 GB. It is expected that LG G3 will be sold from $600 to $700.

In terms of camera, LG G3 boasts a 13 megapixel rear camera equipped with a laser autofocus feature. This, according to experts, is one of the fastest point-and-shoot cameras on mobile that is highly competitive with high end models of Samsung and iPhone products. Unfortunately, the front camera is surprisingly 2.1 megapixel, which are average specs for Selfie mode.

Overall, LG G3 is among the most coveted devices of the year and surely, this will add to the long list of smartphone breakthroughs.
