LG G3 Android 7.0 Nougat Update News: LG Smartphone Getting Needed Refresh?
The LG G3 Android 7.0 Nougat will reportedly roll out sooner than later, and this news update was surprising in the sense that the phone was released two year ago.
According to TechTimes, it's rare news that an old mobile phone that runs Android 4 Kitkat receives the Android 7.0 Nougat update. But it seems there's basis to this new report as shown by the Geekbench test.
However, it's not clear why the South Korean firm would update the LG G3 considering that not many people are still using the phone, particularly with the very successful sales of the high-end G4 and G5 flagships.
The LG G3 specs included a 5.5-inch LCD touchscreen with 1440x2560p resolution. It runs Android OS, v4.4.2 (KitKat) out of the box, which can be upgraded to Marshmallow 6.0. The phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 mated to Quad-core 2.5 GHz Krait 400 and Adreno 330. The internal storage is 16 GB and 32 GB, while the RAM is 2 GB and 3 GB, respectively.
The main camera is 13 MP while the battery is a removable Li-ion 3000 mAh, which is good for 19-21 hours of talk time.
Details of the benchmark test for the LG G3 Android 7.0 Nougat update were published by PhoneArena. The phone received a score of 929 for the single-core and 2977 for the multi-core. The test result was uploaded on Oct. 5, 2016.
