LG G Pad 2 News: Alleged Specs, Release Date of LG’s Upcoming Tablet Leaked
Most recent reports suggest that LG Electronics is preparing to release the successor of its popular G Pad tablet - dubbed as the LG G Pad 2. Recently, Mobi Picker published the supposed full configuration details of the device, which was posted by the reliable tipster Leaksfly on his Weibo account.
Quoting Leaksfly, IB Times reports that the current-generation LG G Pad sports a solid 8.3-inch display, and LG is not altering the display size of its successor the LG G Pad 2. However, the screen resolution of the upcoming device will be 1,080 x 1,920 pixels, compared to the 1,200 x 1,920 pixels of its predecessor.
The LG G Pad 2 is expected to be powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, while the graphics will be controlled by Adreno 420 GPU. In addition, the tablet will be backed by 3 GB of RAM. On the other hand, the LG G Pad is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon Pro 600 SoC and is equipped with Adreno 320 for graphics. The augmented RAM configuration of the upcoming LG tablet is an advantage, as since the predecessor comes with a modest 2 GB unit.
As far as the memory of the upcoming LG G Pad 2 is concerned, it will come equipped with 32 GB of internal storage capacity, compared to the 16 GB storage capacity of the original LG G Pad. However, both the tablets support expandable storage options.
In addition, the LG G Pad 2 will come with an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera unit, alongside to a 5-megapixel front-facing snapper for selfies and live video chats. The original G Pad features an insignificant 5-megapixel main camera and a 1.3-megapixel snapper for selfies.
Leaksfly claims that the LG G Pad 2 will run on the latest Android 5.1 Lollipop OS on its launch. The present G Pad runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and it is likely to be upgraded to Android 5.0 Lollipop soon.
Meanwhile, Phone Arena reports that the tablet will be unveiled in October. Incidentally, its predecessor LG G Pad was released on Oct. 7, 2013. However, LG Electronics is yet to confirm the specifications and release date of LG G Pad 2.
