Lenovo ZUK Z1 Launch News: Specifications, Price, Availability of ZUK First Smartphone
ZUK, a latest subsidiary of the Chinese tech manufacturer Lenovo has just launched its maiden smartphone, dubbed as Z1 in China. Currently, the device is only available in China, but it will be released on e-commerce sites on Aug. 18.
IB Times reports that the new ZUK Z1 features a metal-frame around its edges to provide a premium feel and look. The Lenovo ZUK Z1 has a sturdy structure that will enable the phone to survive accidental drops. On its front, the device sports a 5.5-inch full HD display alongside speaker-grill on top (middle) and an 8-megapixel camera on its right side.
On the rear side, Lenovo ZUK Z1 packs a feature-rich 13-megapixel Sony Exmor RS camera sensor along with dual LED flash, OIS (Optical Image Stabiliser) and other features that help to enhance photography within it.
One of the prominent features of the new ZUK Z1 is that it packs a massive 4100 mAh battery unit with the capacity of running the phone for up to 38 hours of 4G talktime and close to 526 hours, which is more than 21 days, under standby mode.
Other noteworthy features of the new smartphone include U-Touch, a finger-print security feature on the home button, in addition the reversible Type C USB port, which is likely to be an industry standard in 2016.
Under the hood, the new ZUK Z1 accommodates a 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 series quad-core CPU, Adreno 330 graphics engine, 3GB LPDDR 3 series RAM and 64GB (eMMC 5.0) internal storage.
In an endeavor to compete with emerging players like Xiaomi, Lenovo has developed ZUK as the company's online-only sub-brand. The Z1 phone is set for release on e-commerce sites on Aug. 18 and it will come with a price tag of ¥1700 (around $276).
