Lenovo Smart Cast News: Smartphones to Project Display on Flat Surfaces [VIDEO]
Chinese tech manufacturer Lenovo has recently revealed a novel technology called Smart Cast that will allow smartphones to project a display on a board, wall or any vertical/horizontal surface. Quoting Lenovo, TechPP reports that the new technology is the first laser projection smartphone technology ever.
A recent report in IB Times says that the technology is said to feature an integral Pico projector as well as a control system that functions on gestures and a kick stand.
The new device allows users to bend the projector module with a view to make the handset cast the display on any flat horizontal surface. In so doing, the contents of the display will also be projected on the flat surface. This will allow the users to interact with the projection just as if it is the real display.
GSM Arena reports that for example, the Lenovo Smart Cast is able to project the keyboard on a flat surface or table so that the user can type on. Then again, the device is also able to project the complete screen allowing the users to play games without using the mini screen of their smartphone, but via the zoomed projection.
While Lenovo has proudly demonstrated its latest technology at a recently held event, the company is yet to announce any new smartphone that will incorporate the Smart Cast new technology. Hence, it is not certain when the users will actually be able to enjoy the fruits of the new technology.
