'Legends' Season 2 Renewal News: TNT Series Starring Sean Bean as FBI Agent Renewed for New Installment
Fans have become ecstatic after hearing word that TNT has decided to renew the crime drama series 'Legends' for a second season.
'Legends' follows the story of Martin Odum played by Sean Bean, a member of the FBI's Deep Cover Operations division. He has the skills to impersonate any person depending on the job, but starts questioning himself and his own identity.
The series is overseen by David Wilcox as showrunner and is based on the book written spy novelist Robert Littell. It is produced by Howard Gordon and Alexander Cary, who served as the executive producers of political thriller series 'Homeland'. Joining them as producers are Jonathan Levin and Jeffrey Nachmanoff.
During its first season run, 'Legends' had an average number of 3.2 viewers. Adding in the show's run in all types of platforms, such as DVR views, VOD, digital on-demand and linear telecasts, the total viewership average is bumped up to 6.5 million viewers.
The second series will have 10 episodes and is set to debut sometime in 2015. The renewal of 'Legends' is considered a surprise after TNT has canceled several of their shows such as 'Franklin & Bash', 'Dallas' and 'Perception'.
'Legends' is produced by Fox 21 and stars Bean as Odum, Tina Majorino as Maggie Harris, Ali Larter as Crystal McGuire, Amber Valletta as Sonya Odum, Morris Chestnut as Tony Rice, Mason Cook as Aiden Odum and more.
'Legends' is part of TNT's summer series debuts that have also been renewed, such as 'The Last Ship' and 'Summer in the First', according to The Hollywood Reporter. 'Legends' joins TNT's diverse number of series such as 'Agent X', 'Proof', 'Public Morals' and more.
TNT's 'Major Crimes' has been renewed for another season and 'Falling Skies' will have its final season before bowing out. On the other hand, the status of 'Rizzoli & Isles' is still pending, though it will possibly be renewed for two additional seasons.
