'Legends Of Tomorrow' Season 2 Cast News: The CW Unveils First Shot Of Richardson-Sellers As Vixen
"Legends of Tomorrow" season 2 is set to premiere this fall and viewers can't wait to see its new team of heroes and villains, the Legion of Doom.
This week, The CW unveiled the first shot of Maisie Richardson-Sellers as Vixen. The actress will play the grandmother of the present-day Vixen, Mari McCabe, played by Megalyn E.K.
According to reports, the executive producers of the series wanted to bring Megalyn E.K. in for season 2. However, she was too busy with other projects so they decided to cast Richardson-Sellers as the prior version of her character. Through time travel, she will cross paths with the heroes.
"Legends of Tomorrow" season 2 will see the Legends dispersed through time, until they all finally meet in 1940's and face the Justice Society of America. It is during this time that they will meet the prior version of Vixen, the Richardson-Sellers version, who will join the gang of heroes as they set out on their next mission: To continue shielding the timeline from temporal eccentricities and deal with a new threat.
The new season will only have 13 episodes, as confirmed by The CW President Mark Pedowitz at the Television Critics Association (TCA) presentation from the network this week. That is three episodes less than the first season, which, according to the executive, "did not perform as well as it should have." However, Pedowitz said they have "been fixed for season two," so there is no reason for fans to be any less excited for the new season.
"Legends of Tomorrow" season 2 premieres on Oct. 13 on The CW.
