'Legends Of Tomorrow' News: Vandal Savage to Be Portrayed By Casper Crump
The big bad of the upcoming 'Legends of Tomorrow' series has been announced to be Vandal Savage, a common villain in the DC Universe.
It has recently been reported that the character will be portrayed by actor Casper Crump, most notable for his roles in 'Helium' and 'Tarzan.'
Fans will see this character appear in crossover episodes of 'Arrow' and 'The Flash' before making his way into 'Legends,' which is set to premiere in December.
"In the comics, Savage is a brilliant strategist and scientist who has plagued the earth with more than 50,000 years of savagery after gaining powers from a mysterious meteorite. Throughout his history of conquering various lands, Savage claims to have adapted many names, including Julius Caesar, Genghis Khan and Jack the Ripper. Savage, who first appeared in the Green Lantern comics, is also Rip Hunter's sworn enemy and a member of the Injustice Society. Now the question remains as to who will play him," writes EW.
Hawkman has also recently been announced to be portrayed by Falk Hentschel in 'Legends.'
"For those unfamiliar with the DC Comics superhero, Carter Hall is the latest reincarnation of an Egyptian Prince who is fated to reincarnate throughout time along with his soulmate, Kendra Saunders (Ciara Renée). Like Kendra, Carter can access the powers of the Hawk God, Horus, transforming him into the winged warrior known as Hawkman," writes EW.
'Legends' is also set to introduce a whole host of new characters to the CW "Arrow-verse," such as Rip Hunter played by Arthur Davill. Other characters include Brandon Routh as Ray Palmer/The Atom, Caity Lotz as Sara Lance/White Canary, Wentworth Miller as Leonard Snart/Captain Cold, Dominic Purcell as Mick Rory, Heat Wave, Victor Garber as Martin Stein/Firestorm, and Franz Drameh as Jay Jackson.
