'Legends of Tomorrow' New Series News: Spin-Off Officially Picked Up By CW

CW's 'Arrow/Flash' spin-off show has finally officially been picked up by the the network and the verdict is finally out on the official title.

The announced cast for 'Legends of Tomorrow' includes The Atom (Brandon Routh), Black Canary (Caity Lotz), Hawkgirl (Ciara Renée), Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller), Heat Wave (Dominic Purcell), Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill), half of Firestorm (Victor Garber), and Jay Jackson (Franz Drameh).

The series will reportedly have a high focus on time-traveling, based mainly on Davill's character, The Rip Hunter.

Here's the show's official synopsis:

"When heroes alone are not enough... the world needs legends. Having seen the future, one he will desperately try to prevent from happening, time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter is tasked with assembling a disparate group of both heroes and villains to confront an unstoppable threat - one in which not only is the planet at stake, but all of time itself. Can this ragtag team defeat an immortal threat unlike anything they have ever known?"

If you're a fan of what CW has done with 'The Flash' and 'Arrow,' you'll most likely enjoy what this series plans to bring to the universe. It will be produced by the same showrunners, Greg Berlanti and Marc Guggenheim.

On that note, 'Legends of Tomorrow is slated to premiere this fall.
