Legendary Band Newsboys Bring Their Music To Europe For Two Events In Scotland, Italy; Continue "Newsboys United Tour"
Legendary Christian rock band Newsboys earlier this month brought their music to Europe, performing hit songs such as "We Believe" and "God's Not Dead" at history-making events in Scotland and Italy.
In Scotland, the band performed at the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association's "Central Scotland Will Graham Celebration of Hope" that took place June 15-17 at Falkirk Stadium. Nearly 10,000 people attended the weekend-long Scottish outreach, which also featured music from The Afters and Aaron Shust. Headed by Will Graham, grandson of the late evangelist Billy Graham and eldest son of Franklin Graham, attendees at the event witnessed as more than 700 people respond to the invitation to make a commitment to Christ.
Also performing for the first time in Italy, Newsboys showed that music can be used powerfully in sharing the Gospel around the world, headlining one of the first-ever evangelical concerts in Rome. The June 15 event drew more than 1,000 people to the concert at the city's CEIZS Church.
Newsboys have been one of the most influential bands in Christian music history, selling more than eight million units and amassing eight Gold certifications, 33 No. 1 radio hits, four Grammy nominations, two American Music Award nominations, and multiple Dove Awards.
Comprised of Michael Tait on vocals, Jody Davis on the guitar, Jeff Frankenstein on keys, and Duncan Philips on drums, Newsboys' catalog of songs includes hits like the previously mentioned "We Believe," and Platinum-certified hit "God's Not Dead," but also songs like "He Reigns," "Miracles," and "Born Again."
Newsboys are currently touring across the U.S. on the "Newsboys United Tour," featuring former band members Peter Furler and Phil Joel, as well as special guest Zealand and a special appearance by singer-songwriter Adam Agee. The tour wraps in Corpus Christi, Texas, on Aug. 5.
