Rapper Lecrae took to social media to unveil the album artwork for his seventh studio album entitled Anomaly coming out in August.

The Reach Records founder posted the cover, which features a 3D rendering of Lecrae's face. According to Dictionary.com an anomaly is something that is a deviation from the common rule, Lecrae choosing to promote the Gospel in the hip-hop genre definitely suits the album name.

The album features Lecrae's face overlaid with a 3D topographical map. Some have already begun to make remarks about the cover. One commenter on the web said the "art seems to comment on the digitized, constantly surveyed world we currently live in, situating Lecrae as an independent-minded "anomaly" in the system."

Lecrae also posted a video clip with just a sound bite and the album on Instagram.

The Reach Records founder won a Grammy for his 2012 album Gravity. His win made him the first rapper to win the "Best Gospel Album" Grammy. Gravity featured contributions from Big K.R.I.T., No Malice, 9th Wonder, Boi-1da and many more, the album sold more than 100,000 copies.

The 34-year-old first made his album announcement on Twitter, tweeting a couple of handwritten messages along with the hashtag #anomaly.

"My name is Lecrae and I don't fit in," reads one tweet, and in another post, he directly talks about the album. "New music, Same movement. Continue to tell your #Anomaly story," he wrote.

The social-media promo was immediately well received online. Athletes Jeremy Lin of the Houston Rockets, and Oakland Raiders defensive end Justin Tuck joined in and supported the project with their own personal messages using the hashtag as well.

Lin posted, "My name is Jeremy and my life journey has been like none other," and Tuck wrote, "Hi, My Name is Justin I play football But I'm more than a football player!!!"Lecrae was retweeted both messages.
