'Leatherface' Movie Cast News: Stephen Dorff to Play Texas Ranger Hal Hartman
News of a 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre' prequel came to us in the past month, and we have now discovered further casting details on the 'Leatherface' project.
It was revealed earlier that British actor, Sam Strike, would be taking on the role as the young version of the serial killer.
Actor Stephen Dorff has now recently been casted as Texas Ranger Hal Hartman. Dorff has done recent work on 'American Hero' and 'The Motel Life.'
"The film centers around a violent teen who one day will become Leatherface. He escapes from a mental hospital with three other inmates, kidnaps a young nurse and takes her on a road trip from hell. Along the way, they are pursued by an equally deranged lawman out for revenge," writes Deadline.
The film will be directed by French filmmakers, Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo.
There is currently no set release date for the film, but it is slated for sometime in 2016.
