Riot Game's 'League of Legends' free to play MOBA remains to be one of the most popular online games currenty played by millions worldwide. However, the game isn't available on all platforms so some gamers are looking for ways to expand their LoL experience on various devices.

For one, Riot Games has not offered a way for Chromebook users to successfully install the game onto their systems by means of a native client. Nevertheless, despite the obstacle, one user has made it a point to figure out how to get the game to run on various Chromebooks.

In a recent Reddit post by user Maxibones, a step by step guide for installing 'League of Legends' on a Chromebook is offered with corresponding links to the required software.

It's important to note that the Redditor warns: "This will only work with Intel based Chromebooks [Intel Inside]

Before stepping into the step by step method for installing LoL on a Chromebook, it's first worth it to consider whether or not a device meets hardware requirements. While Chromebooks are commonly used for web-browsing, writing text documents, sending emails (things of that nature) they're not really intended for gaming.

However, some Chromebooks will not have the right specs to run the game properly, which will certainly result in low frame rates and possibly crashing.

Stepping into the post by Maxibones, he or she advises: "Ok, so everyone's asking which systems will be able to run League, Unfortunately I aimed this guide towards people with the new 2015 pixel [Google Chromebook Pixel 2015] which by far is a fantastic machine "¦ I have actually got this to work on a 2015 Levono Thinkpad ($400 Range), which is were [sic] I got my benchmark from for the FPS."

Adding, "Also for those people budgeting I highly recommend you go with a different option. This method is totally not viable. I havent played any ranked games using the chromebook, just bots and normals. It does crash every now and again but what do you really expect from a browser built machine."

On that note, any Chromebooks users who think their device will be able to run 'League of Legends' should give the installation method a shot, but they should do so at their own discretion and understand any potential risks.
