'League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen' New Movie News: Producer John Davis Set to Reboot Film

Another big property has recently been inducted into the big wide world of reboots. 20th Century Fox is now in pursuit to bring the graphic novel, 'League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen', to life once more for the big screen.

Many will remember the 2003 rendition that did poorly at the box office, but not many know about the failed television series attempt in 2013 that never saw the light of day.

The film initially sought to start a film franchise upon its release, but didn't generate enough money to do so. It is also important to note that it was Oscar-winning actor Sean Connery's last film.

"The critically and commercially successful comic book series follows Mina Murray, who is recruited by Campion Bond to assemble a league of other extraordinary individuals to protect the interests of the Empire. Captain Nemo, Allan Quatermain, Dr. Jekyll and Hawley Griffin, the Invisible Man team up with Murray to form an off-color group of outcasts that use their powers and skills to save the world from destruction. The award-winning series ran fifteen issues and two graphic novels," writes Tracking Board.

The reboot details at this current time are very scarce, but its certain that the studio has a lot of source material to draw from.

John Davis has been set to direct the reboot, but the studio is still in search for a director to take on the project.

"Moore is no stranger to having his works developed for the big screen. Aside from League, Moore has written two of the world's most critically acclaimed graphic novels in Watchmen and V For Vendetta, which have both been adapted into features. Fox is looking to nail the new adaptation of League, and is currently looking for a director to continue to develop the reboot," writes Tracking Board.
