'Law & Order: SVU' Season 17 Spoilers: Showrunner Shares Insights About Rollins And Carisi

There might be something going on between Detectives Amanda Rollins (Kelli Giddish) and Dominick Carisi (Peter Scanavino) in the series "Law and Order: SVU."

Rollins got to see a different side of Carisi when the two are taking Rollins' baby for a walk. When the baby suddenly felt uneasy, Carisi was able to comfort her and give the adjusting mother a couple of tips.

Showrunner Warren Leight had given some of his insights to The Hollywood Reporter regarding the situation of the two and the possibility of a romantic relationship between them.

"Something was going on with Rollins that she had not felt before. Rollins has had one point of view on Carisi for a long time, like the annoying younger brother point of view, and I thought I saw something really interesting in that moment," Leight said. "I'm curious to see where it goes."

With the series fresh from its mid-season break, Carisi's character could start to warm up on everyone. Warren could possibly wants us to get to know the character a bit better. After all, Carisi didn't get much of a warm character's welcome from the fans. He was added in the latter part of the show as a replacement for Detective Nick Amaro, played by Danny Pino, when he was transferred to Staten Island. Since then, Carisi has been slowly becoming one of the core members of the show.

"The more you get to know Carisi, the more you like him and the more you trust him and I think that's what's happening to Rollins," Leight added.

What will become of this Rollins-Carisi relationship? Find out as "Law & Order: SVU" season 17 premieres Wednesdays at 9 p.m. only on NBC.
