'Law and Order SVU' Season 17 Spoilers: SVU Facing Sex Trafficking Issues; Carisi Checks Rape Cases?
The SVU faced a sex trafficking issue involving the local departments in "Law and Order: SVU" season 17 episode 18. Along with Carisi's reaction about the issue, it has also been revealed that "Law and Order: SVU" actor Richard Belzer is set to return to the series.
"Law and Order: SVU" season 17 episode 18 is entitled "Unholiest Alliance." According to Spoilers Guide, one of the SVU's team members was "implicated" in a cover-up and this prompted the group to investigate a sex trafficking operation, which comes from the police department, the Catholic Church, and government offices.
As per TV Fanatic, Carisi slowly acknowledged that there had been a huge scandal involving the church and it was the greatest highlight of episode 18,. As per the publication, it had been interesting to witness his transition from the most devoted defender of the religious sect to a disgusted person, trying to persuade Father Eugene to do what is right.
With the conflict involving the religious group, it is assumed that Carisi's faith could be moved. The conclusion of episode 18 saw the character quietly praying and crying, presumably for the offenders to reconcile and correct their mistakes.
In other news, Belzer played the role of John Munch in "Law and Order: SVU" until his departure in season 15, US Magazine reported. As per the publication, the actor is set to come back to the series and reprise his role. The actor will reportedly guest star in an episode in May, which is set to follow a young model who claims that she was a victim of a fashion photographer.
Entitled "Sheltered Outcasts," "Law and Order: SVU" season 17 episode 19 will see Carisi investigate new rape cases. According to Spoilers Guide, Carisi is set to live undercover at a homeless shelter to check if one of its sex offender residents was responsible for a series of rape cases in the neighborhood.
"Law and Order: SVU" season 17 episode 19, "Sheltered Outcasts," is set to air on Mar. 30.
