Lamar Odom News: Former Lakers Star Coping with Friend Jamie Sangouthai's Death
After not hearing from the late Jamie Sangouthai's best friend Lamar Odom, the former Lakers star is reportedly reeling from the loss of his dear friend in Las Vegas surrounded by a few friends to comfort him. Yes, Odom's ex-wife Khloe Kardashian spoke up on social media as well as her BFF Malika Haqq and now, Odom is reportedly coping about what happened.
Sangouthai's death was a shock to many including his close family and friends especially Odom who had been friends with Sangouthai since they were kids and were really quite close as their friendship were publicly seen during the 'Khloe & Lamar' E! series.
The two reportedly "haven't spoken for a year," but despite the long silence, Odom was reportedly said to be "very shaken up" about the recent loss and that Sangouthai, who is suspected to have died from a heroine overdose was a "huge shock" for the former basketball star.
"It's very scary when someone you know so well dies suddenly," an insider very close to Odom claimed and told E! News. "It's been a wake-up call for Lamar as he realizes that he could personally be in a very different place if he was still as close to Jamie," the insider adds.
Meanwhile, as the death of Sangouthai is currently being investigated, it has been reported that the TV personality was was issued a bench warrant of arrest after failing to appear in court back in January.
As Sangouthai was previously arrested back in Apriil 2014 for possession of Metamphetamine and plead guilty initially, was apparently facing a court order at the time that he suspectedly died of drug overdose. Apparently, upon previously pleading guilty, Sangouthai reportedly agreed to a deferred entry of judgement instead.
This would have allowed him not to have a conviction against his name if he completed some provisions mandated by the court. Then when he reportedly failed, according to some leaked documents gained by some news agencies, the judge then issued a $26,000 warrant for his arrest which of course failed since Sangouthai died.
