NBC's 82nd annual tree lighting special, "Christmas in Rockefeller Center," was held Wednesday night in NYC and Lady Gaga, who performed Live on the event was the brightest star of the show.
During the 2014 Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, the 28-year-old "Bad Romance" singer sang two classic songs with Tony Bennett.
Gaga has taken to her Twitter account to share her excitement with her followers, saying, "Me & Tony performing! It was truly a Winter Wonderland in New York. A beautiful holiday night. Watch me and @itstonybennett sing "WINTER WONDERLAND" Live from Rockefeller Center Tree Lighting!"
According to Celebuzz, Gaga and Bennett's duet of "Winter Wonderland" was flawless. Bennett is Gaga's collaborator in her new album 'Cheek to Cheek' and two are scheduled to go on tour next year.
Dressed in an all white ensembles, Gaga was a sight to behold and her performances during the night was just as spectacular.
Another performer during the show was Mariah Carey, whose performance, according to USA Today, bombed.
Carey was originally supposed to perform Tuesday night, but producers cancelled her performance after she arrived three hours late.
However, since the tree lighting ceremony was synonymous to Mariah Carey's "All I Want For Christmas," they called her back for a Wednesday performance, with the condition of singing the song Live.
According to The Wrap, "To say it didn't go well would be an understatement."
The songbird was struggling through every note and appeared to be having trouble with her breathing during the song.
Meanwhile, the night was a confluence of two different events, first is for the celebration of the tree lighting, and another is the mourning of yet another fatal shooting incident involving an unarmed black man.
While the crowd at the Rockefeller Center celebrated an early Christmas, another group of people nearby were protesting the death of Eric Garner, who was killed by a police officer when he used a chokehold on the victim, a tactic that is prohibited by the NYPD.
