'Kong: Skull Island' Cast News: Actor Toby Kebbell Tapped For Role
It appears that the horrific result of the 'Fantastic Four' reboot didn't destroy everybody's career that was involved.
It's just been announced that Doctor Doom actor Toby Kebbell has been picked up for a role in the 'Kong: Skull Island' project. Not much has been revealed on his role, or the premise of the movie for that matter, but he is set to star besides names such as Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson and Corey Hawkins.
"Details on his character (and all the other characters) are being kept under warps. The story concerns a team of explorers who journey into the "the mysterious, creature-laden isle that is also the home of the king of the apes," cites Slash Film.
Despite his portrayal in 'Fantastic Four,' Legendary still considers Kebbell as a highly talented actor. His role in the film was more a product of poor writing, last minute reshoots, and overall apathy for the source material.
Apart from 'Skull Island,' Kebbell also has some more projects lined up with him with the film studio.
"Kebbell has previous experience with CG apes, having played Koba in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. He also has an existing relationship with Legendary as one of the stars of Duncan Jones' Warcraft, due out next summer. Recently, he wrapped Timur Bekmambetov's Ben-Hur and J.A. Bayona's A Monster Calls. His other notable credits include Wrath of the Titans, Prince of Persia, and RocknRolla," writes Slash Film.
The film is scheduled for a release on March 10, 2017.
