Kirk Franklin Explains His Response to Plies' Strip Club Offer
Rapper 'Plies recently posted a video on Instagram inviting songwriter, producer and recording artist Kirk Franklin to go on a strip club with him. In response, the religious Franklin, proposed a counter-offer to 'Plies, saying that he would have to go to a three-hour church service with him and a church cookout afterwards.
The invitation would sound welcoming to most people, but Franklin added that he must go to a church where there's no air conditioning, and perhaps then that's when the artist might walk by a strip club.
"So three hours of just sweat and stank. Then we will get the church cookout food, fresh fish, fried fish and the french fries. And then maybe I'll walk by the club," Franklin stated in a video shared by Hip Hollywood.
"The reason why I responded is because I want to show people that as a Christian, we are not untouchable. That can be very disrespectful for another human being to say something to you and because he's not a church person I can't say nothing back," Franklin told Hip Hollywood.
"Who am I? That's the type of mantra I try to live under..who am I?"
According to Christian Post, Franklin said he'll just "keep trying and failing" and will continue to keep trying to see what he can do to try to keep people engaged in the conversation about the Lord our Savior.
He added that if I wants to keep God part of the conversation, he will do everything in his power to make it happen.
The 45-year-old Franklin continues to promote God's love for us with his newest album, "Losing My Religion," which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Gospel and Top Christian/Gospel Albums Chart.
