'Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV' Release Date News: Film Going To Exist Simultaneously With Game
Less than a month before its release, fans of the Final Fantasy franchise are already excited for the release of "Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV."
The companion film that was unveiled a few months ago during the "Uncovered" event, the film exists simultaneously with the events of the Final Fantasy game. Its story takes place inside Insomnia, the kingdom of the crown city of Lucis.
However, instead of focusing on Noctis and the road trip of the company, it follows the father and bride-to-be of Noctis, King Regis and Luna, as they deal with a truce with the empire of NIfelheim.
The Kingsglaive refers to a group of elite warriors serving King Regis. Living to guard the borders of Lucis, these elite warriors engage in hand-to-hand combat, use rad swords, do teleporting and even magic. The Kingsglaive is led by Nyx Ulric, a courageous warrior who always strives to find the balance between what he is asked to do and doing what is right.
Nyx is voiced by the actor from "Breaking Bad," Aaron Paul. On the other hand, King Regis and Luna are played by a pair of actors from "Game of Thrones," Sean Bean and Lena Headey.
"Kingsglaive" narrates a story that is parallel to the Final Fantasy XV-proper. It is expected to feature the craziest and most exciting action scenes ever featured in a CG movie.
The film hit theaters in Japan on July 9. It is set to receive a limited theatrical run in some cities across the United States on August 19, while a standalone Blu-ray and DVD will be made available starting October 4.
