'Kingdom Hearts 3' Release Date News, Rumors: Xbox One, PS4 Gameplay Details Revealed [TRAILER]

In latest 'Kingdom Heart 3' news, there are multiple rumors surrounding the critically acclaimed video game series including what fans can expect to see exclusively on next-gen gaming consoles PS4 and Xbox One.

"We have been working on 3 and 2.5 at the same time," said series co-director and game designer Tai Yasue to Kotaku UK in a recent interview.

"So a lot of people are crossing over and doing both. There are also a lot of new people working on both. In a way, we've learned what was good about our previous Kingdom Hearts [games] by making 2.5."

The long running protagonist Sora debuted in the first ever Kingdom Hearts game on March 28, 2002 for the popular PlayStation 2 video game system.

In the upcoming game, Sora and his longtime friends Riku and Kairi, in addition to legendary Disney characters such as Goofy, Donald Duck and King Mickey, will aid the young hero when once again battles the wicked Key blade Master Xehanort in the upcoming battle between good and evil.

In addition, like the previous installments of the series, Sora will use his trusty Key Blade weapon in order to travel through various worlds to encounter many popular characters within the Squaresoft and Disney franchises (which is also rumored to include Darth Vader from 'Star Wars' and Marvel Superheroes like Spiderman, The Hulk, Iron Man and Captain America to name a few).

"There's a lot to get used to working with the Disney content. You have to have a lot of dedication and respect for their visual IPs for example, and when you play Kingdom Hearts 2 you see that: when you summon a character or use a spell there's a lot of love and care that goes into the presentation. When you see Stich coming out of the screen, for example, it's very true to the original movie. That dedication is something you learn through the process or remaking 2," said Yasue.

"It's very challenging, but we work on it daily," he added, "We continuously talk with Disney and see what they think is acceptable... but we constantly want to surprise our players, too, so we need flexibility. It is challenging and makes you think."

The newest 'Kingdom Heart 3' version is expected to arrive in stores for the PS4 and Xbox One in Fall 2015, but that has not been confirmed.
