'Kingdom Hearts 3' Release Date, News: Players Can Explore ‘A Whole New World’

The latest news "Kingdom Hearts 3" seemed to confirm previous rumors about the game delving into Disney territory. That means that the worlds of "Final Fantasy" are definitely out of the picture.

According to Game N Guide, the latest installment in the popular franchise will "focus on the popular Disney worlds." This jibes with the previous rumors about "Big Hero 6," "Hercules" and "Tangled," among others being incorporated into the game.

"With the popularity of 'Zootopia,' 'Toy Story,' 'Star Wars' and 'Frozen,' it is rumored that these worlds will be included in 'Kingdom Hearts 3,'" the article added.

In another report, director Tetsura Nomura said that the demo gameplay shown during the E3 event will be part of the final version.

"He wanted to give players something to explore with that demo, somewhere they'd have to get high up to get a feel for the area before proceeding," it said. "And this is the kind of feel that the final game will have, too."

Meanwhile, in other news, the developer suggested that players should first explore "Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue" in order to understand what happens in "Kingdom Hearts 3."

The trailer of the prologue was also shown during the E3 where it shows Aqua exploring the realm of darkness. This chapter is called "Fragmentary Passage."

And although there's no news yet on the release of "Kingdom Hearts 3" apart from the rather generic timetable of 2017 for the Xbox One and PS4, the prologue will be coming out this December.
